Mycroft Schwartz, CPA, CA

Mycroft graduated from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and completed his accounting prerequisites at Camosun College, also in Victoria. He successfully completed the Uniform Final Evaluation (UFE) and became qualified as a CPA, CA in 2015. Mycroft moved to Calgary in 2012 where he joined C. L. Smith & Company, the predecessor practice, for four and one-half years. He continues to practice in the same areas as C. L. Smith & Company, by providing accounting, assurance and tax services to small and medium-sized enterprise, not-for-profit organizations and individuals.

Prior to joining and later acquiring the predecessor practice, Mycroft spent close to 10 years working at the University of Victoria in different capacities both during and after student life. A firm believer in community engagement, Mycroft is currently the secretary of the Palliser Bayview Pumphill Community Association.

Trish Penner, MPH

Trish graduated from the University of Victoria in 2015 with a Master's of Public Health. Prior to joining Schwartz & Company she volunteered as a receptionist for a number of not-for-profit organizations.

A member of the team since 2017, Trish is responsible for administrative duties at the office.

Christopher Smith, CPA, CA

Christopher completed a Bachelor of Arts in English and Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Calgary in 1998, and has over 18 years of experience in both industry and public practice. In his career in public practice, he has worked for firms ranging from a big four accounting firm to a small start-up practice. Prior to starting his own firm in 2009, he was a senior manager in assurance services at a large national firm.

For the past 8 years, Christopher has provided a variety of services through his own firm to small and medium-sized private enterprises and not-for-profit organizations, including audits, reviews, compilations, and personal and corporate income taxes

He enjoys gaining an in-depth understanding of clients' businesses - beyond the accounting function - and believes this understanding leads to better client service. He always strives to operate at the highest level of professional standards.

Christopher continues to consult with the firm on a part-time basis.
