A message from Christopher:
It's the start of a new year, and in this period of new beginnings we are pleased to announce some changes at C. L. Smith & Company. Mycroft Schwartz, CPA, CA, my associate for the past 4 and 1/2 years, is taking over my assurance and tax practice. Most of you know Mycroft already, as he has been involved with nearly all of my clients in some way over the years. Mycroft brings a strong technical background in accounting, assurance and tax for small and medium-sized businesses and non-profits, along with his soft-spoken, friendly approach with clients. The firm will continue to operate as Schwartz & Company, Chartered Professional Accountants.
For clients, we will be providing a nearly seamless transition - there will be no major changes in the operations of the firm. The office address, telephone and fax numbers will remain the same. I will continue to work with Mycroft during the transition period and we are committed to making the process as smooth as possible.
I wish to express my thanks to all of you - the past eight years have been a journey and an experience for which I am immensely grateful. I am now going to be moving in a slightly different direction, offering my services as a part-time CFO/controller to organizations that are bridging the gap from small businesses to larger, more complex organizations.
